A whole day off? That sounds amazing right?
Let’s be honest though, as moms, we don’t really get those.
Especially us stay at home moms.
However, we could all dream right? Make plans for that wonderful day…
Here is my idea of a whole wonderful day of:
First, I would wake up…on my own, when I wanted. Have a cup of coffee, and take a shower in silence. (I’m one of those people who likes my water just two degrees shy of hell, and just sit in it until it runs out.) Get ready, actually do my hair and make up… With no-one speaking to me the entire time. Playing my music loud this entire time, of course.
My first stop, of course, is target for a coffee and nice quiet stroll around.
Then I would head to get my nails done.
After that, I would head over to the beach with a blanket, my umbrella, a small cooler of snacks and drinks, and a good book… and I would just relax for a couple of hours.
Finally, ending my day with sushi.
But, of course…Grab another Starbucks, on my way home..
Sounds simple, yet amazing right? This is really my dream day off.. (if anyone wanted to forward this blog to my husband, that would be totally fine too.) Sometimes, as moms we get so caught up with doing so much for our families that we forget to take a day, to take time for ourselves. I think it’s important. I think it’s important to take a mental health day, to take time for self care. I always say you can’t give your all if you don’t have your all to give.
What would you do with a whole day off?
Take that day momma, take that trip, go do that thing… whatever your perfect day off looks like. Make a plan, and DO IT!
You’re killing this mom thing, and you deserve it!!
With love and coffee,
